Pedestrian Levitation
Pedestrian Levitation is a very interesting “daily life” visualization project, which tracked the movements of pedestrians on street crossings (and of course the stray jay-walkers, too). Their movements are traced through a frame comparison, and video tracking tool, and some kind of computer program tracks the dominant directions and chosen routes. “The emerging flow patterns are regarded as force-vectors in physical space, which are then painted as irregular white triangles on the pavement.” All math and science aside, the artistic side of these diagrams are really fun to see.
