Chances are, if you’re showcasing a specific personality on your shirt, you know a little of the backstory behind said image. Most characters, like Mickey Mouse or Eric Cartman had to build up some sort of mainstream popularity in order to be marketable enough to have their images emblazoned on large amounts of merchandise. The creative minds behind Spanish apparel company Tolky Monkys have thrown that traditional model out the window. They’ve come up with their own amusing, unique characters and splashed them all over merchandise such as t-shirt, hoodies, jumpers and posters, asking consumers to come up with their own lore for their new buddies. Characters such as God Eye and Gustavo the Long Arms Kid are given their names and back stories through customer participation on the Tolky Monkys blog. Maybe you can unlock the secret history to the new Tolky Monkys character on your shirt"¦or at least name it.
