Formed in 1947 by photographic luminaries like Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, George Rodger and David "Chim" Seymour, Magnum Photos is an elite group of photographers who have documented major events both past and present (above are from the conflict in Lebanon). Their work is photography at its grittiest; hard hitting and real. There’s an incredibly high level of quality across the board and browsing through the various photo essays can be pretty intense and mind boggling as you fall into thee depths of their work. The recently released website, Magnum in Motion, displays all of the latest photo essays on a wide range of subjects and you can even subscribe to a weekly podcast, upcoming installments include "Hip Hop" and "The Path to Buddha". Magnum dwells very close to the pinnacle of photo journalism and as they themselves put it, "When you picture an iconic image, but can’t think who took it or where it can be found – it probably came from Magnum."
