Joseph O. Holmes

Photography is one of those weird things; pretty much everyone owns a camera of some sort, even if it’s just on a cell phone. Most people like the shots that they take because…they took them. It isn’t until you see some really excellent photographs that you realize just how much there is to learn about the art form. Or at least that was the reaction I had to Joseph O. Holmes’ work over the weekend.

Joe is a NYC-based photographer whose subjects range from random street finds to people in love. His photoblog features a compilation of well over 1000 shots collected over the last three years from around NY and abroad. He also teaches digital photography as a continuing education class at NYU — which means that if you like is stuff, you can go learn from the man himself. Which I might just do when I have a little free time and spare change.
