Happy New Year!

Wow, 2007 already? It feels like 2004 was yesterday — when I started this blog as a place to share my inspiration with family and friends. While a lot has changed, like the look and feel, amount of content — and will continue to evolve — the reasons that our content exists will never change. Our editorial policy is simple: If we like it, whether it’s a restaurant or a t-shirt, and it inspires us in some way, we’ll write about it. We will never allow the integrity of our work to be compromised by any incentive, offer or promises of fame and fortune. We write and review what we love.

This year we’re making a couple of our own site-wide resolutions, and we’re taking your tips and comments to make sure that 2007 is an amazing year for this site and everyone involved.

"¢ Post More: Towards the end of this past year I experimented with posting more often– without much surprise the response was very positive. In 2007 I’ll be doing my best to double the amount of daily content for all my readers.

"¢ Be More Green: We’re going to be making a concerted effort to make the Spear Creative Group offices ‘more green’– we also plan on doing much more coverage of the eco-conscious movement throughout the world. We will focus on projects and products that are more organic, sustainable and earth-friendly, although we’ll still cover sectors and companies who have yet to become enlightened in this arena.

"¢ Scoop More: We live by the mantra, Content Is King. We’ve had outstanding responses to all the exclusive content we post, coverage of events and off the beaten path style posting. In 2007 we’ll continue to ‘get the scoop’ to keep all our readers informed on emerging trends and entertained.

"¢ Share More: When I started this site three years ago I shared a lot more about what made me tick. As the site evolved and it turned into a collaborative effort of a tightly-knit team, there was less opportunity to blog about my life, my business, investments, etc. In the near future, I’m going to launch a ‘behind the curtains’ blog, where curious readers can learn more about me, my thoughts– and give me more room to rant and rave. I will strive to be entirely transparent while still maintaining some degree of privacy.

"¢ Listen More: In order to listen to you more effectively, I’ve developed a much better system for receiving feedback. While it wont affect your feedback process, I wanted to encourage everyone to keep sending in tips, feedback and comments– we’re really listening!

"¢ Donate More: I never could have known how a small project like this could turn into a successful business. Since I strongly believe that all corporations should donate a percentage of sales to non-profits, I must walk my talk. In 2007, 5% of all profits from JoshSpear.com will go to a charity that we will all (you included) choose!
