Compact [Design] Living

I sure do love Modern Contemporary Design, especially when it seems very functional. Although a little bit weird, designer Luigi Colani has created this “space saving house” with a six square meter cylinder inside that shifts to change from bedroom, to kitchen, and bathroom. This cylinder rotates left or right and brings the room you want in view of the main living room. See more for a better explanation as well as more pictures.

According to MoCoLoCo, the wonderful design site, says there is also a seperate toilet and a small hallway. “Designed for young professionals who need minimal space while they focus on a career..” Pretty interesting thought, I don’t think you ever need your bathroom, kitchen, or bedroom all at once. I just hope there isn’t an easy way for someone, or max the cat to get stuck in one of the cooridors while the other one is open. Yikes that could be bad. Cool design though, the rounded corners and warm feeling reminds me of the next generation of myhotels for Brighton in London, designed by Karim Rashid and some guy William Spear.
