AmbientUmbrella

What did high school students, drug dealers, and doctors have in common 10 years ago? They all carried pagers. Now cell phones and text messaging has made those prior status symbols obsolete but thankfully, the networks that carried all that pager traffic is still around and now serves a much more interesting purpose. The AmbientUmbrella from AmbientDevices has an intelligent handle that visually indicates the forecast via illumination. Light patterns show you whether you should expect rain, drizzle, snow, or thunderstorms. It automatically receives data from my favorite source, AccuWeather over those handy pager networks, and there are no activation or monthly fees. The only caveat is you must live within the coverage area (most large cities across the country); — all you need to do is park one of these babies by your door and look over before you step out.
