My Weekend in Alpha-Town

At the close of last week, I told you that I was heading up to Vail to, among other things, watch the Honda Session Snowboard Competition. When I got to the venue on Friday night, it was snowing very hard– the fresh snow on the course made it very difficult for the athletes to ride the features in the Steel & Sky competition to their fullest. Nevertheless, a lot of spectators showed up to watch the competition and everyone had fun (photo of the Venue after the Jump). Then the real fun began. The next morning we woke up to 16 inches of fresh snow, and boy did we have fun skiing it. The snow didn’t relent on Saturday, so we had two straight days of great conditions. The shots above are of my long-time friends and dynamic-brother-duo Tyson and Onie Bolduc shredding the deep in the Vail Backcountry. Sharing weekends like this with great friends makes the experience that much better! Photo credit goes to Jeff Crico.

As you can see, it was snowing heavily on Friday night…
