Mark Story

Mark Story’s photographs are chilling at first glance; his subjects look almost like mummies or something from a museum. In fact, most are people — still alive — who have lived during three different centuries. Mark started his photographic journey with an interest in people who appeared older than they really are: people who were “worn beyond their years”. This evolved into an interest in centenarians.

“The experience of talking with a 110 year-old man whose father stood next to Abraham Lincoln during the Gettysburg Address does not easily lend itself to words. A photograph seemed appropriate.” Have a look at the rest of the photos and stories about Mark’s subjects. They’ll most definitely make an impression.
