London: Patrick Hughes

I got a chance to spend a little bit of time with Patrick Hughes today, in his London studio. He’s quickly become an art legend, creating perspective pieces that literally make pictures come alive before your eyes. His work is witty, unique, forward thinking, and it was an absolute pleasure to chat with him. There are few places around the world where you can see his work on permanent public display, but the most Hughes you’ll ever find in one place is just down the street from his studio at Flowers East on Kingsland Rd. There is a small gallery with his pieces, called Flowers New York, at 1000 Madison Ave. Conceptually, Patrick Hughes is easily making some of the most creative, and borderline genius work I’ve ever seen.
