Concrete Dunks

Posted on July 5, 2005 Under Art

Between June and November ’04, 10 pairs of concrete dunks, which were numbered and contained a card with a release date, were placed throughout various stores around North America and Europe. The group of stores, like Huf in San Francisco, and Nort in both Berlin and NYC, were chosen for their constant involvement in a developing street culture. You can now check out the site for more documentary, including pictures of the shoes at each individual store, and stories from each of the locations during the drop. These are a shot of a set that broke somewhere down the line. Some of the pictures of the original look so real in detail, it’s hard to believe they’re cement–In one description of a drop at Huf, they said a cleaning lady tried to ‘kick’ them out of the way, boy she must have been surprised!
