Jessica Joslin

Jessica Joslin grew up in Boston, MA collecting flies off the windowsill to look at under her microscope–admiring the natural world around her. Her collection of ‘stuff’ grew to include bits of mechanical mechanisms, hardware, and in ’92 she found a use for it all when she began building these sculptures, or ‘beasts’ as she calls them. When she’s not building creatures, she works as a commercial model maker in Chicago. Her work is influenced by everything from PT Barnum to Animal anatomy and osteology. Maybe a little but spooky, but I think their quite intriguing– definitely check out the rest of her work.
